Tips for Pneumatic Butterfly Valves

Test and adjustment of pneumatic butterfly valves

Whether manual, pneumatic, hydraulic or electric butterfly valves, all their parts have been strictly debugged before leaving the factory. When rechecking the sealing performance, users should evenly fix the inlet and outlet sides, close the butterfly valve, pressurize the inlet side, observe whether there is leakage at the outlet side, and open the disc before the strength test of the pipeline to prevent damage to the sealing pair.

Although the pneumatic butterfly valve is strictly inspected and tested before leaving the factory, there is automatic screw displacement of some valves during transportation, which need to be readjusted. Please refer to the manual of the matching drive unit.

Tips for pneumatic butterfly valves

1. Before installation, confirm whether the product performance and medium flow direction arrow are consistent with the working condition, and wash the inner cavity of the valve. No foreign matter is allowed on the sealing ring and the disc. Don't close the disc before cleaning, so as not to damage the sealing ring.

2. It is recommended to use the special flange as a supporting flange for the disc of butterfly valves, that is, HGJ54-91 socket welded steel flange.

3. The best position for valve installation in the pipeline is vertical installation, and inverted installation is not allowable.

4. When the valve is in use, a worm-gear box is used for control if flow needs to be regulated.

5. For butterfly valves that are opened and closed frequently, open the worm gear box cover in about two months, check whether the butter is normal and keep proper amount of butter.

6. All joints are required to be pressed tightly, so as to ensure the tightness of packing and the flexible rotation of the valve stem.

7. Metal seal butterfly valves are not suitable for installation at the end of pipelines. If they must be installed there, it is necessary to be equipped with the discharge flange to prevent the sealing ring from being squashed and being out of position.

8. Regularly check the using effect of the valve and eliminate faults in time.
