The check valves refer to a kind of automatic valves which rely on the pressure of the flow medium in the pipe to push the disc, so as to close and open the valve. When the medium stops flowing, the check valve disc closes, preventing the medium in the pipe reversing, keeping the pump and drive motor from reversing, in case the medium leaks. Thus all play a key role in ensuring the safety of the pipeline. In the pump water supply system, the check valve can prevent the impact of high-pressure water backflow on the pump impeller. For example, when the pump suddenly stops running for some reason, the pressure inside the pump disappears, and the high-pressure water connected to the pump outlet will reverse into the pump. As the pump outlet is equipped with a check valve, it will close immediately to prevent high-pressure water from flowing back into the pump. The check valves can be applied under a variety of mediums such as water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidation medium, urea, etc.

According to the valve structures, check valves can be classified into three types: Lift Check Valves, Swing Check Valves, and Butterfly Type Check Valves. The main parts of a check valve is a spring, a body, a bonnet, a disc, a ball seat, a stem and so on.

Pay Attention to the Following Matters in the Installation of the Check Valves:
1.Do not let the check valves bear the weight in the pipeline. The large check valves should not bear outside weight so as not to be affected by the pressure inside the pipeline.
2.During installation, the direction of medium flow should be align with where the arrow of the valve body direct at.
3.The vertical lift check valves should be installed on the vertical pipe.
4.The horizontal lift check valves should be installed on the horizontal pipe.

Possible Problems, Causes and Solutions for You:
Firstly, when valve body and bonnet joint appears leakage, there are following situations:
(1) The nut is not tightened enough, please readjust it.
(2) The sealing surface is damaged or accumulates dirt, please trim the sealing or remove the dirt in time.
(3) If the gasket is damaged, please replace it with a new one.
Secondly, when sealing surface of the disc and seat appears leakage, there are following situations:
(1) There exists dirt between the sealing surfaces, please clean it.
(2) The sealing surface is damaged, please grind or process it again.
