An analysis of valve market in China (Part one)

As a fundamental product for environmental protection, valves are of a wide variety of kinds, and rapidly evolving with the development of equipment manufacturing industry. Under the premise of technical enhancement, valves made in China have gained popularity in the market and their industrialization trend, as well as high-end developing direction, have become more and more obvious.

Many kinds of mid-high end valves, such as valves for heat supply, environment protection purpose, construction, are available in the valve market of China after years of endeavor, but some products still require importing.

Even now, neither the market policy support nor engineering level is enough to boost the research and development in valve industry like petrochemical industry, power station, metallurgical industry, chemical industry, city construction and other basic manufacturing fields, where will be further supported as the policy of speeding up the rejuvenation of device manufacturing industries promotes. The feasibilities of import substitutions of valves among sub-industries are disparate, and the valve industry earnestly needs a clear guidance of policy and cutting-edge technical support.

Right now, buyers from all over the world are accelerating the market expansion of valves from China. Reportedly, 50% of world's valve spare parts are purchased from China. And due to the fact that most of the valves are made by Chinese OEMs, the number of purchasing final products in China is much higher.

Most of the valves installed on the running nuclear power units in China are also made in China. Chinese valve industry is competent to provide high-pressure and large-diameter valves for
long-distance pipeline, valves for petroleum refining, some companies are even able to supply products that cover the whole line.

The production of mid-low end valves is gradually moving to
developing countries like China. Meanwhile, the interaction between Chinese valve companies and customers from other countries has become much closer. For company's long-term development, internationalizing its supply chain management, organizational structure, enhancing international after-sales service and the ability of crisis handling are a road it must take.
