Rising Stem Gate Valve & Non Rising Stem Gate Valve

According to different driving mode, rising stem gate valve implements opening or closing by using hand wheel drive the nut to make stem linearly up and down. Non rising stem gate valve is opened or closed by hand wheel driving the valve stem and the threaded screw dose up-and-down motion.

Rising stem gate valve: the stem nut lies in the valve body and it is in direct contact with medium. The gate valve can be opened or closed by rotating the valve stem.

Non rising stem gate valve: the stem nut exists on the bonnet or bracket. The gate valve can be opened or closed through the rise and fall of valve stem.

The difference between rising gate valve and non rising gate valve:
1.The lead screw of rising stem gate valve is visible, while non rising stem gate is invisible.

2.Rising stem gate valve rises and falls the disc through driving the screw thread between valve stem and steering wheel. When opening or closing, the steering wheel and stem of non rising stem gate valve is connected and relatively motionless. Non rising stem gate valve completes opening or closing by rotating the valve stem in fixed position to drive the disc going up and down.

3.The leading screw of rising gate valve lies inside the valve body. When opening or closing, the valve stem only does rotational motion, and the gate rises and falls inside the valve body.

4.Rising stem gate valve needs more space than that of non rising stem gate valve, in order to complete installation.

5.Rising stem gate valve is good for oiling the valve stem. Non rising stem gate valve not only can't be oiled, but also is directly eroded by medium, so it is easy to be a failure. That is why rising stem gate valves are used more widely.
